1. Venison was originally used to describe all game meats however now it applies exclusively to only deer, except in South Africa where it applies to antelope.
2. When compared to a 100g of beef, Venison possesses 1/3 the amount of calories as compared to beef. It also possesses approximately 1/30 the amount of fat present in beef.
3. The trick to removing the gamey smell from Venison is to marinate the meat in yoghurt for 20-30 minutes
4. Our Venison supplier, Mandagery Creek in Australia (1 of only 6 places where deers run free), produces this flavourful meat entirely without the use of antibiotics, stimulants and hormones.
