In what has become an annual tradition, Amman Rotana hosted a traditional Swiss village as part of its Christmas activities. For the second consecutive year, the hotel kicked off its Christmas events calendar by transforming its lobby into a traditional Swiss village in an atmosphere replete with charm and the joy of the season.
During the three-day celebration, running between December 12 and December 15, the Amman Rotana lobby was transformed into a miniature Swiss village, complete with replicas of traditional Swiss cottages. The enchanting atmosphere, created in conjunction with Swisslinx, took visitors to the heart of Switzerland and offered a unique shopping experience that included apparel, gift items, accessories, and handicrafts, in addition to table decorations and brass and ceramic ornaments.
Visitors to the Swiss village were also treated to the musical stylings of the world-famous Swiss folkloric Alder group, who provided joyous melodies, while shoppers enjoyed chocolates, Swiss cheeses, sausages and hot seasonal drinks.
At the celebrations, Amman Rotana General Manager Atieh Hamarneh said, "For the past two years, we have enjoyed bringing a piece of Switzerland’s famed Christmas cheer to our guests in cooperation Swisslinx, which is headed by Susan Khalil Al-Shawwa. By spreading this atmosphere of joy and peace with our guests, we transport them and offer them a snippet of Swiss life, enjoying the sounds, smells and tastes of the season."
Hamarneh went on to speak of the rich and exceptional relations between Jordan and Switzerland, which have risen to even greater heights over the past several years, saying that the hosting of the popular Swiss village annually is yet another step in the right direction for the two countries.
