SALALAH ROTANA RESORT APPOINTS HOSSAM KAMAL AS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

Salalah, April 13th 2015 – Salalah Rotana Resort recently appointed 20-year hospitality veteran, Hossam Kamal, as its new General Manager. With a career spanning over a decade within the Rotana Group, working at properties in the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, the seasoned professional has now taken the helm of the group’s first five star resort in the Sultanate and the country’s largest freestanding hotel.

Rotana’s Area Vice President for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates and the Governorate of Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman, Greg Allan, said, “The greatest asset in our industry is people and we therefore nurture the potential of our employees and enhance their capacities to create Rotana’s future leaders. Kamal is the perfect example of someone who has grown exponentially within the group, having worked across different departments beginning at the front office and working his way up the ladder. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry, but more importantly in the Rotana philosophy of treasured time. We are confident that he will take the resort to even greater heights.”

Newly appointed General Manager of Salalah Rotana Resort, Hossam Kamal, said, “The resort’s many successes in its opening year is promising and means there is vast potential for growth which I look forward to exploring. Kamal boasts an impressive hospitality background, having spent four years as the General Manager of Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa, Al Aqah Beach, nearly three years as the Executive Assistant Manager of The Cove Rotana Resort and three years at Grand Rotana Resort and Spa, Sharm El Sheikh as Director of Front Office and Director of Rooms. Prior to joining the Rotana Group, Kamal trained and worked with accomplished hospitality names including Starwoods Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotels Group. With experience along the entire spectrum of a hotel’s operations, Kamal is adept at identifying key projects, expanding existing business with strong sales techniques and winning customer loyalty. He is a visionary leader with extensive experience in developing and leading teams to ensure first-class hotel operations that support strategic growth.
