A Morning of Happiness and Joy!
As part of the World Autism Awareness month, we were glad to host the students and teachers from the Special Care Centre for a fun morning of games and magic.
At the hotel, the children engaged in a host of special activities such as a puzzle solving session, face painting and a magic show. The students put together the alphabets forming the words, ‘Park Rotana’ with the assistance of colleagues from the hotel and their teachers. Later, they conveyed their favorite characters to the face painting artist and lastly, the children were enthralled by the feats of the magician who had many tricks up his sleeve.
The puzzle holds great significance in the field of autism as it demonstrates the multi-faceted characteristics of the disease and the people that it affects. The hopefulness of the puzzle piece is that although autism is complex, it is being pieced together much like a puzzle, with research making the big picture more and more clear.
On the occasion, Francisco Giles, General Manager, Park Rotana & Park Arjaan by Rotana commented, ‘It gives us great pleasure to spread some joy among these children and to see a smile on their faces. It’s these little things that make a difference.’
The children concluded their day beaming with happiness and left the hotel bidding goodbye to the colleagues.
