Abu Dhabi, UAE, February 2018: As part of Rotana Earth, Rotana's global corporate sustainability programme, Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana in partnership with Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi organized a laughter yoga workshop with the objective to raise awareness about health issues.

The workshop was held at Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana, where guests and colleagues attended an interactive session hosted by Mr. Lokesh Hegde, a yoga specialist from Burjeel Hospital. The workshop had active participation from the attendees, who practiced several yoga exercises, breathing techniques and laughter yoga methods.

Laughter yoga (Hasyayoga) is a practice involving prolonged voluntary laughter. Laughter yoga is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter. Laughter yoga is done in groups, with eye contact, jokes and playfulness between participants. Forced laughter soon turns into real and contagious laughter.
